What is the DESFire Card?
DESFire® card or Credentials with
MIFARE® DESFire EV1 or
MIFARE® DESFire EV2 chip inside.DESFire® card is ideal for combing and supporting multiple applications on one card. DESFire® card benefits from a Unique 7 byte UID and on-chip backup management system. It is also ISO/IEC 14443 A 1-4 compliant.DESFire card is the newest - and most secure - of the MIFARE standards and includes a cryptographic module on the card that adds an additional layer of triple-DES and AES encryption to the card/reader transaction which reduces the risk of cloning or creating of cards.MIFARE is a contactless card technology that was introduced in 1994. It was primarily used for transport passes, but its technological capabilities quickly made it one of the most popular smart cards for storing data and providing access control. All MIFARE cards comply with the ISO14443A industry-standard requirement and, like other contactless cards, use an internal antenna and chip that reacts once a card is within the magnetic field of a reader. All MIFARE® cards operate at a 13.56MHz frequency and are made by NXP Semiconductors – part of Phillips Electronics.DESFire® card with High Security - Mutual authentication, AES 128, DES and triple-DES data encryption and unique 56-bit serial numberDESFire® card with reading/Write Functionality - Perfect for multi-functional memory applications.DESFire® card use for ACCESS Solution - Add smart card applications to proximity technology access control systems.DESFire® card with True Credit Card Thickness - Use with all direct image and thermal transfer printers.DESFire® card is designed for diverse applications that demand the highest levels of security, including access control and biometric identification, cashless vending, public transportation, ticketing, and customer loyalty cards. Available in PVC and Composite PET/PVC card construction, our DESFire card is exceptionally durable and can accept an embeddable contact chip for logical access and biometric ID systems.DESFire card has 8 Kbytes of dynamic memory arranged
in easy-to-define application folders and data files. DESFire® card data can be encrypted with the highly secure Advanced Encryption Standard (AES 128) algorithm assuring that data in the card is secure before, during, and after the transaction, as well as between folders and files within the credential itself.
