DO RFID manufactures custom NTAG216 NFC sticker tags for smart packaging, product information, digital business cards, equipment records and branded tap experiences. The tag uses the NXP NTAG216 IC, operates at 13.56 MHz and communicates according to ISO/IEC 14443 Type A as an NFC Forum Type 2 Tag.
NTAG216 provides 888 bytes of user memory, making it the largest-memory option in the NTAG21x family. It is useful when the encoded NDEF message will not fit comfortably in NTAG213 or NTAG215, although many projects only need a short URL and can use a smaller, lower-cost chip.

Materials, sizes and customization
Existing formats include round labels at approximately 18, 22 or 30 mm and rectangular or square formats such as 40 × 25 mm and 45 × 45 mm, with custom dimensions available. Face materials can include paper, PET, PVC or epoxy-finished constructions.
Printing and conversion options include full-color artwork, screen printing, matte or gloss finishes, barcodes, QR codes, serial numbers and pre-encoding. Standard adhesive tags are intended for non-metal surfaces. Direct metal applications require a suitable ferrite-backed anti-metal construction and should be tested on the actual product.
Original-page guidance lists approximately 1–10 cm reading distance and -25°C to +70°C operation. Actual performance depends on antenna size, phone or reader, alignment, surface material, nearby metal or liquid and the finished label construction.
What NTAG216 can store
The 888-byte user memory can hold an NDEF message such as a URL, contact record, product reference or other supported payload. For most connected-product projects, the tag stores a concise web address while detailed content remains online, allowing the destination content to change without replacing the physical label.
NFC-enabled phones can read a correctly encoded Type 2 Tag when their hardware, operating system and application support the interaction. Compatibility should not be described as universal across every handset or custom application.
Application and security selection
NTAG216 stickers can connect packaging to instructions, registration, promotions or product information; open a digital profile; identify equipment records; or provide a tap point for events and customer engagement.
A normal NTAG216 is not a cryptographic anti-counterfeit credential by itself. It can point to a backend verification page, but projects that require secure dynamic authentication should evaluate a security-focused NFC IC and system architecture.
Choose between NTAG213, NTAG215 and NTAG216
Use NTAG213 for compact URL payloads, NTAG215 when the application needs its intermediate memory profile, and NTAG216 when the encoded message genuinely requires the larger 888-byte user area. Chip choice should follow the actual NDEF payload, software requirements, antenna format and budget—not simply the largest memory number.
